Welcome to our website nursery, we hope you enjoy the plants on offer. We started in 2007 and initially specialised in ferns before growing other shade loving plants, especially Hostas. As recent customers at plant fairs have seen we are now utilising the other meaning of 'shady' by grwoing and offering insectiverous plants. We will have more on our website soon.
A little about us. Well we never take plants from the wild (so no trunked Dicksonias for example) and we employ organic methods of growing. We are now using organic peat free compost for the vast majority of our plants (we are working on peat free mixes for insectiverous plants and a good one for ericaceous). The particular mix we use is not as 'woody' or 'barky' as cheaper types. We use Evergreen Irish organic peat free compost made from worm castings, seaweed, composted willow and well rotted horse manure. Oh, and we love growing plants and stick to plants that excite us, trying to avoid the more homogenous offerings of garden centres nowadays.

Waterford, we have a large selection of hardy ferns for sale, one of the widest selection of hardy garden ferns to buy online in Europe. We also offer over 40 varieties of Hosta. We also supply many other plants, expertly chosen for their garden worthiness and affinity with ferns in various planting schemes. There are also a few surprises as well!
