One of the easiest of this amazing genus of aroid to grow in the UK and Europe. Very cold hardy, coming as it does from the foothills of the Himalayan region.
Excellent for growing under trees and shrubs, give a deep mulch of leaf mould in the autumn, or if you have very damp/wet soils, keep in a container and let dry out over winter. Like so many plants it is the combination of cold and wet which is the most common undoing. They like a good rich soil with good drainage and filtered sunlight.
The plant itself is quite remarkable with a speckled 'stem' abundant umbrella-like foliage and the amazing pale pink/flesh coloured spadix and spathe.
